The Trismus Treatment Team

Project Description

Project TrisPrint:

The team's main objective is to create a fully 3D printable device to assist in the long term treatment of Trismus (commonly known as Lockjaw/Temporomandibular Joints) in radiation patients. This project is in collaboration with the Mechanical Engineering Department, Dignity Health Phoenix, and the Communication Sciences and Disorders program at NAU.

The current marketplace for Trismus treatment devices is often too costly for many patients to afford, so our device must be cost-effective (under $50) and be replicatable via 3D printing with a suite of instructions on how to properly print and assemble the device.
