National Concrete Canoe Competition

The American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) hosts the annual National Concrete Canoe Competition for engineering students to compete in. This event will be held in Irvine California on April 6-8, 2017.

The National Concrete Canoe Competition involves building a functional canoe made of concrete that must meet stringent specifications provided by the competition community. These specifications change each year to challenge students to use their creativity while building teamwork, acquiring effective communication skills, and generating new and innovative ideas. Each team is ranked based on its final product, race results, design, and oral presentation.
